Spring Rolls with Peanut Sauce at Lek’s Taste Of Thailand in Montgomery, Alabama-#7 or #93 on Meg’s Tasty Tuesday’s MEGABITE countdown.

#*100 Dishes to eat in Alabama before you die is a compilation of food to chow down on Bama style. Thanks to Tourism Alabama, www.alabama.travel my Alabama bucket list just became a little easier. I am going to have some fun while making my way like Ms. Pacman, in yet another state that I call home.I follow the alphabetical brochure that begins in Abbertville and ends in York. From the little old diner to the white cloth joint, it is an opportunity to explore and experience pride in the food from restaurateurs who are dedicated to local food with some Alabama style.  I have no order to trying these dishes and fly around Alabama by the seat of my pants and use my own 1-5 Megastar rating.   Enjoy my take on Alabama’s best.

When I think of Alabama cuisine, Thai food probably did not come to my mind.  However, Lek’s restaurant has won many Montgomery awards including ‘Best Ethnic Cuisine.”

Lek’s Taste of Thailand is an unassuming restaurant located in an old strip mall in Montgomery. A sister restaurant is located in downtown Montgomery in a great old train station.

This interior has many interesting objects to look at.  Really enjoy the well thought out and neat tablescapes!

Loved by the people, this dish made the Alabama 100 list.  Described as a light crispy spring rolls, served with rich peanut sauce. I could drink this delicious sauce.

I have been to Leks a few times and have had great experiences.  One of my favorite all time foods happens to be Vietnamese Spring Rolls. At Lek’s this version is called a Fresh Roll.  I ordered with shrimp and a cup of soup. Perfect for me!

I lekker Lek’s (lekker is Dutch for like or if consulting Urban Dictionary let’s just say REALLY like:). )  I give Lek’s Spring Rolls 4 Megastars **** I love the menu and enjoy an atmosphere where the owner takes pride in their establishment and the community at large! Local produce crafted into something yummy!

1. Lunch time is a great time to try a few different things on the menu and get a spring roll included.
