Pho-Sure Lemongrass Kitchen Spartanburg

What’s up with Meg on Tasty Tuesday?

I am on a South Carolina food journey to chow down at the best restaurant in each of the 46 counties while seeking the Top 100 Food Dishes To Eat In South Carolina While Alive, Or, Before Dead, Whichever Comes First.

Why This stop?

This stop falls in the category of seeking the best food dishes SC has to offer. This past month I learned that Bahn-Mi of Spartanburg has closed its doors and I’m looking for a good place to get my Vietnamese food fix. The owners are going to put their effort into the one location, The Lemongrass Cafe’ in downtown Spartanburg.

The place-

Christmas season has come and gone but downtown Spartanburg remains alive during the “winter” season. It is a fun city visit and take a closer look.  There is a funky outdoor space to gather  (not pictured) and watch sports on the tv, bring the dog and the kids, and have some great snacks. And, one can even rent ice skates and try out some winter fun.

Just around the corner from the ice rink, is where the Lemongrass Kitchen is located.

Bun bo xao sa. Beef Noodle Vermicelli with Lemongrass. The Lemongrass cafe. A cool temperature dish called a “salad.” I like it for a meal.

*To note, they do not serve the bean sprouts with this dish but were happy to provide them.

MEGastars ***  I really want to love this place but I found the sauce a bit heavy on the fish sauce. I did not hate it and will return to try another visit. I love that the Bun comes with fried egg rolls.  Overall, the food is humble, honest, and comforting.  I wish that the restaurant was a bit larger.
