Visiting Ovenbird was another fantastic Alabama stop that I likely will never forget. This experience has once again enlightened my culinary world. My brain literally grew tired as I wrote and thought about the complicated food that I was so very fortunate to taste at Ovenbird. I truly appreciate my Ovenbird visit and it will remain in the top of my Alabama and all-time National/World restaurant experiences. The Birmingham Alabama food scene is outstanding!

Athenian Grouper at The Fish Market Restaurant in Birmingham is the 79th “dish” that I have tasted on my quest to eat all dishes listed on 100 Dishes To Eat In Alabama Before You Die.
I have said this before, I was not looking forward to eating grits, again. This dish had me at Gulf Shrimp, cheddar and chardonnay cream sauce. #WOW #YUM #KABAM
The shrimp arrived piled high on my plate, and I hit them hard. Peeling one by one, I experimented by tasting their nakedness
Unwrapped that fish like it was a Christmas present.
Another thing that I love about this place that is not to be missed is that this business gives back to the community. I had wondered what the large hanging Marlin Fish was all about.
