This restaurant has a cool name, is in a cool place, on a cool island, with cool food.
Visiting Ovenbird was another fantastic Alabama stop that I likely will never forget. This experience has once again enlightened my culinary world. My brain literally grew tired as I wrote and thought about the complicated food that I was so very fortunate to taste at Ovenbird. I truly appreciate my Ovenbird visit and it will remain in the top of my Alabama and all-time National/World restaurant experiences. The Birmingham Alabama food scene is outstanding!
this restaurant has been featured in USA Today and acknowledged by the New York Times. So how this restaurant located so geographically close to me was off my radar is your best guess.
I head down Shady Lane to 617 Shady Lane. Every fun story should have a shady Lane, right?

I have said this before, I was not looking forward to eating grits, again. This dish had me at Gulf Shrimp, cheddar and chardonnay cream sauce. #WOW #YUM #KABAM
